I was sobbing on the couch, unable to control myself.
My 2 beautiful toddlers were trying to comfort me, and in that moment I realized I had no idea why I was living.
It was 2018, and my girls were everything to me. But I was in such a difficult place physically, mentally and emotionally, I didn’t know what to do.
I was 50 pounds overweight, had absolutely no confidence in myself, and felt so much anxiety and stress I couldn’t function. I had started to question what life was really about and felt like I was completely failing at being a Mom. It was heartbreaking and the guilt and shame overwhelmed me.
Looking back, I’m not sure what would have happened to me if I didn’t have my 2 girls to remind me what matters in life. They were my priority, and I knew that I had to do something different. I wanted to become the person they would look up to and count on – and I had a lot of work to do.
I decided in that moment that I had to prioritize my own well being, and take control of my life.
I started by becoming aware of the habits I had formed in my life, and beginning the process of starting to change them, one step at a time. I started seeing a therapist and implementing healthier habits with my nutrition. I was terrified to join a gym, but I did it – and I stuck with it. I also focused on forming healthy relationships with people that I enjoyed being around.
As I took each of these little steps, one by one, I could feel my inner confidence began to grow. I found myself motivated and passionate to really embrace life and be an example for my girls.
It wasn’t easy, as I didn’t have someone to guide me through the process. It’s hard to do it on your own, especially on those days when you question whether you can really do it. I know what it’s like to feel alone and uncertain on what you need to do first.
As a Mom, I used to feel like I had to know exactly what I’m doing all the time. I always had to have it together, or there was something wrong with me.
That’s not reality, and that’s not being fully human.
The most important lesson I learned on my journey was how to be a better version of me by taking a step back and learning who I really am and changing the way I looked at life.
When I compare who I was back then, lying on the couch, to who I am today, it brings tears to my eyes. I love life and have never been happier. It was a difficult journey for me to take on my own, but it inspired me to help other women so that they can experience a transformation for themselves.
Today, I help Moms regain their confidence and passion to be able to embrace who they truly are. I help them create a healthy body and lifestyle based on habits and who they are at their core.
By becoming their own guide and mastering positive habit change, they’re empowered to be the Mom they truly want to be, and know they can.
If you’re in a place where you know it’s time to make some changes and take control of your life, please reach out to me. I look forward sharing my journey, and helping you plan yours!
